| I am a dynamic, exciting, progressive, committed, compassionate, conservative Republican who is a constitutionalist; and I want your vote for the US 12th District Congressional Race.
|
|
I have served and lived in all sections of the state from the west (Chief of Occupational Health Services and VISN Consultant for the W. G. "Bill" Heffner VAMC-Salisbury), to the Piedmont Triangle Area (where I was born and served as the John Umstead Hospital Alcohol Detoxification and Substance Abuse Director serving a 17 county catchments area), and to the east (Duplin County's Plain View Health Service-a public health service and rural health initiative which now serves a large migrant worker population).

I am the only announced
candidate with training dealing with the issues of terrorism, bio-terrorism, nuclear radiation and homeland defense and we need that right now in Congress.
|
|
As a previous medical director for a Fortune 500 company with national and international dealings, detoxification director for the John Umstead Hospital serving a 16 county catchments area, community health center co-developer, primary care physician and mother of two draft age sons, previously elected school board member and licensed teacher, I have a wealth of hands on experience applicable to the challenges of determining benefits and entitlements for our government and nation.

As a candidate I make to you the following pledges and commitments:
- I will always work for the best interest of this nation, state and party with all my heart and soul.
- I will support an economic stimulus package, which
includes tax cuts;
however, these cuts must be
coupled with spending limits, waste elimination and private sector job creation to heal the disease existing in our economy. As your US Congresswoman, this I will do.
- I will advocate for tax incentives, which will make wind, water, sun and hydrogen fuel cells -- alternative energy options viable thereby decreasing our dependence on oil and limiting our need for involvement in some associated Middle East conflicts. In addition, I will support historic renovations and economic development incentives for restoring homes and developing alternative uses for abandoned buildings as empowerment zones for decaying cities and a boost to trades.
I will support the development of a
privatized rail system to produce jobs and give us some way to enhance the movement of goods and services across this nation.
- I, Dr. Ada M. Fisher am an honest broker and advocate for the people in NC's 12th District. I will stand up to resist anything which doesn't reflect fair trade or which takes jobs out of this country to the detriment of our state and nation.
- I will fight to make health care affordable which
includes tort reform to address health risk from malpractice injustices, eliminate TV ads for prescription medicines, promote universal billing for hospital cost (that's one bill for all services received), etc.
- I will protect social security for the elderly and not play politics with it or Medicare.
- I will fight to get President Clinton's Executive Order 13166 overturned; thereby
making English the official national language for legal and publicly funded enterprises.
- I will fight for true immigration reform which requires that citizenship may be considered only for those who have entered this country legally. I will not compromise the national security of this nation nor pander to any group just to get their votes.

The US Congress is supposed to be a deliberative body, not a rubber stamp. This body should reflect those from the rank and file who have lived in North Carolina and understand its people from living among them. As one who previously walked in all of the state's 100 counties and 189 cities I not only know this district, I know the rest of the state for I truly believe you can't represent that which you aren't committed to visiting. I am up to the challenges of the US Congress. I know that I am that unique candidate who can do the job well, effectively serve as your advocate, and is "Good for what ails us."

The Dr. Ada M. Fisher for US Congress Campaign has a prescription to keep the pressure down focusing on putting the representative democracy envisioned by our nation's founders back at the heart of the election process, taking money out of this and talking to the people on the streets where we live. If you believe as I do in NC's motto, "Esse Quam Verde -
To be rather than to seem," then you can appreciate that "It's Time To Get A Doctor In The House" with a
vote for me, Dr. Ada M. Fisher, to help us get better while being all that we can be.
|
|
Your contributions to and support of this campaign will help us get our message out. I want and solicit your support, your vote and your financial backing.
